The land of Tokotna was once cold, cruel and unforgiving. Animals struggled to survive, and the North was barren and barely inhabitable; attempting to make a home there was hardly thought of.
Two large packs endured every day by the skin of their teeth, ruling over the slightly warmer Southern regions in constant conflict over the narrow spread of suitable territory. At the head of these packs was the intrepid Qaiyaan, the female leader of the Siqiniq, and the ornery Karpok who oversaw the Tatkret pack.
